SUMMARY

The Shmoo was a character that originally appeared in the Li’l Abner comic strip.  ‘The New Shmoo’ had aired in its own time slot from Sep 22nd-Dec 1st but was incorporated into ‘Fred and Barney Meet the Shmoo’ for the remainder of the season after Dec 8th.  The one hour and 30 minute series featuring reruns of Fred and Barney Meet the Thing with the New Shmoo. Like the Thing segments, the Shmoo never interacted with the Flintstones cast, only in the theme song and bumpers in-between.  The Shmoo teamed up with three teenagers to solve mysteries.  The Shmoo would show up in the following season as part of the Flintstone Comedy Show.
