SUMMARY:
Based on the puppet show beginning in
1949 ‘Time for Beany’, veteran animator Bob Clampett made animated shorts of
Beany and Cecil. Beany is a boy who has
a magic sea-serpent Cecil. Beany’s uncle
Captain Huffenpuff lends a hand and face off against their nemesis Dishonest
John. 78 short cartoons were produced.
The series originally started in 1959 as a segment of Matty's Funday
Funnies before Beany and Cecil took over the timeslot in 1962.
