SUMMARY:
This animated series was another fusion of multiple
Japanese animated shows ala Robotech and Captain Harlock in order to achieve
the 65-episode daily syndication requirement. Two series, ‘Demon God of the
War-Torn Land Goshogun’ and ‘Mission Outer Space Srungle’ were combined to form
the new English dub called 'Macron 1.' The two sets of characters communicated
with each other, with one being set in an alternate dimension. In 2545 a
teleportation experiment goes haywire and rockets Major David Chance into an
alternate universe. The resulting vacuum sucks the evil Dark Star and half his
forces into our universe. Now the sinister armies of GRIP want control of both
universes. The good forces in each world must team up to battle these
tyrannical legions. Together they form Macron 1, united in the fight for the
future. Contemporary covers of 1980's pop music was added into the English dub,
preventing it from ever being released again due to music licensing issues.
