U.S. based Moonscoop LLC and Archie Comics have partnered to co-produce the new animated series, 'It's Archie,' featuring the iconic beloved characters of 'Archie,' 'Betty,' 'Jughead,' 'Veronica' and 'Reggie' as 12-year-olds in their home town of 'Riverdale,' it was announced today by Moonscoop LLC CEO Mike Young. Season One of It's Archie and its cast of rambunctious pre-teens, set in the contemporary world blending slapstick comedy in outlandish, exuberant, off-the wall novel adventures, is available in 52 x 11' episodes and will be offered at MIP Junior and MIPCOM, Oct. 5-10 in Cannes.
"These wonderful kids of It's Archie are a bit younger than we've ever seen them before, but possessed with the same basic personalities that have endeared them since their introduction in the Archie Comics over 70 years ago," says Young.

It's Archie rolls back a few developmental years, catching 'Archie' and his friends 'Betty,' 'Jughead,' 'Veronica' and Reggie' on the cusp of transitioning to teens, as twelve year-olds at a modern-day Riverdale Jr. High. As with most seventh graders, 'Archie' and his friends struggle with the normal, everyday issues such as peer pressure, boy vs. girl competition, pie eating contests, shyness, family chores and homework. On the other hand, in the It's Archie world, enter some very loopy, disparate elements such as mad scientists, extraterrestrials taking up residence in janitorial closets, enchanted fog, pirates, various beasties populating local lakes, even 'Jughead's' beanie holding the secret to saving the world! In the It's Archie quixotic world of Riverdale, love is measured in puppy portions, exuberance is in the air and the impossible can always be solved with a dose of kid ingenuity.
Firmly rooted in their past but yet kids of today, the always sunny It's Archie characters of 'Archie,' 'Betty', 'Jughead,' 'Veronica' and 'Reggie' could be watching videos and posting on-line, texting, downloading an app or heading to 'Pop Tate's Chok'lit Shoppe,' a block away from Riverdale Jr. High, to use the Wi-Fi. Upbeat, playful and four years away from their coveted driver's licenses, these It's Archie pre-teens are not yet affected by teenage brooding, surly attitudes, or peevish behavior.
'Archie Andrews' - the small town, freckled-face innocent, who stumbles into trouble taking everyone along with him.
'Betty Cooper' - the gullible/adorable neighbor who enters every adventure with boundless cheer and wide-eyed naivety.
'Jughead Jones' - the loyal sidekick who acts Zen in the face of every obstacle-whether that's due to his cool confidence or because he's napped through it is yet to be determined.
'Veronica Lodge' - the empire building mini-mogul who has the contacts, know-how, and funds to make her friends' schemes a reality.
'Reggie Mantle' - the burgeoning bully who is envious of 'Archie's' swagger, 'Jughead's' ease, 'Veronica's' savvy, and 'Betty's' joie de vivre.
